Why I'm Not Writing This Week 4/6

Welcome to "Why I'm Not Writing." We all know that the only thing writers like doing better than writing is avoiding writing. So every Friday I list five things that have distracted me from my writing that week.

I also encourage you to share with me what made you procrastinate this week by posting with #whyimnotwriting on Twitter, Facebook & Instagram, or share in the comments below. I'll feature my favorites with everyone here.

BIRTHDAY WEEK!!!

Tomorrow is my birthday so I've celebrated all week for my Birthday Week. I've had homemade meals, dinner out, movie nights and more. All leading up to my big day tomorrow and a big party with my friends. I'm so happy to have so many people who love me and want to celebrate with me.

Happy Easter!

Last Sunday, I drove to my parent's house to celebrate Easter with my extended family. We spend the day eating delicious food, sharing happy memories and putting together a ridiculously complex puzzle. Overall it was a beautiful day and I'm grateful I was able to spend it with family.

Camp NaNoWriMo

Also on Sunday, Camp NaNoWriMo began. Not the most convenient day for it, but oh well! My goal for April is to end up with 30,000 words, average about 1,000 words a day, but I've been pretty hit or miss so far. The best part has been my cabin, full of readers like you and others who are just excited to write.

Isle of Dogs

Wes Anderson's newest film, Isle of Dogs, arrived at our small, local theater this week. We got into a special early showing that was completely sold out, so we had to sit right in front of the screen. Not the most comfortable, but it was still a beautiful movie and I highly recommend it, especially if you love dogs. You'll probably cry.

Series of Unfortunate Events

One of my favorite Netflix original shows, Seriees of Unfortunate Events, published its second season this week and WOW! It was a roller coaster ride. If you're never read the books or watched the first season (just ignore that terrible movie, okay?) you need to check it out. It's funny, it's educational and it's very unfortunate.
