Why I'm Not Writing 10/5

Welcome to "Why I'm Not Writing." We all know that the only thing writers like doing more than writing is avoiding writing. So every Friday I list five things that have distracted me from my writing that week.

I also encourage you to share with me what made you procrastinate this week by posting with #whyimnotwriting on Twitter, Facebook & Instagram, or share in the comments below. I'll feature my favorites with everyone here.

I'm still looking for authors to participate in my Indie Author Spotlight. This gives independently published authors the chance to have their book exposed to thousands of new readers every month. As this is our first month, your chances of being chosen will be much higher than any other month. So don't wait and  check out my page!

By Word & By Line

Last weekend, I went to my first writer’s conference. I was able to learn a lot and get great feedback from agents and editors in the publishing industry. While I didn’t get the feedback I had hoped for, everyone was really helpful and encouraging. I’m looking forward to my next conference in November.

Happy Fall!

I’m about a week late in actually welcoming in the autumn season, but with my last couple of weeks being so crazy, I feel like I haven’t really had a chance to enjoy it. The weather here in North Carolina is still pretty warm, but all the cozy fall decorations and events are coming out. I’m extremely excited!
