Why I'm Not Writing This Week 10/18

Welcome to "Why I'm Not Writing." We all know that the only thing writers like doing more than writing is avoiding writing. So every Friday I list five things that have distracted me from my writing that week.

I also encourage you to share with me what made you procrastinate this week by posting with #whyimnotwriting on Twitter, Facebook & Instagram, or share in the comments below. I'll feature my favorites with everyone here.

Travel Hangover

After being in Las Vegas for a week, it took me a while to get back onto a regular schedule. I’m not often affected by jet lag but I had a red eye flight back home and landed in Charlotte at 6am. Unfortunately, I couldn’t sleep a wink on the plane so I had to sleep through most of the day when I returned. After a week, I’m finally adjusting, but am not quite caught up with housework and my gym routine.

Letterkenney

We started watching this irreverent Canadian comedy series on Hulu this week. The first episode or two were a bit rough, but things quickly heated up. Now we’re binge watching the show every spare minute we can get. This show is definitely only for mature audience, but is sure to provide a good laugh for anyone that has every lived in a small, rural town like ours. If that sounds like you, give it a watch. Pitter, patter.

Walking At Work

Since I haven’t been great about going to the gym lately, I started walked at my day job during what is supposed to be my lunch break. I don’t normally take my break and eat at my desk instead, but I’ve found that I definitely prefer taking a short break to walk outside or on our community treadmill.

FalseKnees Book

My all time favorite webcomic artist, FalseKnees, released a book! I preordered it a month ago but it finally arrived in the mail this week. While I’ve already read most of the comics in this book, it was really gratifying to have a copy that I could hold and to give money to one of my favorite artists. If you love animals, curse words and art, check out False Knees.

Causebox Market

My orders from the Causebox Market also came in the mail this week after a month and half. It was well worth the wait though to get such great, sustainable items from cause-focused, woman owed businesses at heavy discounts. The Market is open four times a year for quarterly and annual members of CauseBox!
