Why I'm Not Writing This Week 11/2

Welcome to "Why I'm Not Writing." We all know that the only thing writers like doing more than writing is avoiding writing. So every Friday I list five things that have distracted me from my writing that week.

I also encourage you to share with me what made you procrastinate this week by posting with #whyimnotwriting on Twitter, Facebook & Instagram, or share in the comments below. I'll feature my favorites with everyone here.

NaNoWriMo

This week starts the best/worst month of the year. It’s time to buckle down, write 1,667 words a day and hopefully end up with a 50,000 word novel by the end of the month that is somewhat salvageable to edit and revise.

Happy Halloween!

This week and last weekend, we celebrated Halloween. Me, my sister-in-law and cousin dressed up as the Sanderson sisters. Unfortunately, we never get any trick-or-treaters since we’re somewhat remote, but we still had a great time watch TV and eating junk food.

Computer Meltdown

On Sunday morning, I woke up to find my computer had crashed completely and after all of my recovery options failed, I realized I had to replace my hard drive. Luckily, I was able to recover most of my files and my dad, who is absolutely amazing, got me a new hard drive installed it for me in just a day. Love you dad!

Doctor Who

I used to love Doctor Who when I was younger, but got away from the series when many of my favorite actors left. However, when I heard about the new Doctor being a woman, I knew I had to give it another shot. I’ve only watched a couple of the new episodes so far, but I’m loving the new writing and cast.

NC Writer’s Conference

Today starts the first day of another writer’s conference for me. I’m in Charlotte again, but this conference is open to more writers in North Carolina, as it’s not exclusive to Children’s book writers. I’m really looking forward to it!
