Welcome to "Why I'm Not Writing." We all know that the only thing writers like doing more than writing is avoiding writing. So every Friday I list five things that have distracted me from my writing that week.
I also encourage you to share with me what made you procrastinate this week by posting with #whyimnotwriting on Twitter, Facebook & Instagram, or share in the comments below. I'll feature my favorites with everyone here.
You may have remembered how much me and my husband love Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Well , this week, we finally got tired of playing the same old scenes over and over again, and downloaded the expansion pages to get some extra content. We were expecting a few extra clothes and shrines, but so far, have been really impressed by all the new features added!
I got my first CauseBox in the mail yesterday! I’ve been so excited to get this box full of goodies, which all support small, women-owned companies form around the world. Unlike many subscription boxes, this box has social-conscious products sources from companies that usually donate many of their profits to charities and non-profits. The only bad news is the boxes only ship seasonally, so I’ll have to wait until Summer to get my next one.
I was so lucky that my friend from college, Jerricka, came into town last weekend. She came to visit another friend, but stayed with me and Daniel a couple of nights. It was great to hang out with her and spend some time with someone I love, but don’t get to see as often.
Last week I started a new Social Media adventure by joining Holonis, an up-and-coming social media outlet great for creators and writers. You have a chance now to get in and claim your username before things start blowing up. Check out Holonis and follow me!
This has been a really rough week, so it would have been for me to fall into old binge-watching patterns. But luckily, having friends visiting and a lot of events coming up, I’ve done fairly well not bingeing on TV shows this week. I did catch up on a lot of stuff on Sunday, my day off, but hope I’ll be able to carry this new habit into next week.
