Why I'm Not Writing This Week 5/17

Welcome to "Why I'm Not Writing." We all know that the only thing writers like doing more than writing is avoiding writing. So every Friday I list five things that have distracted me from my writing that week.

I also encourage you to share with me what made you procrastinate this week by posting with #whyimnotwriting on Twitter, Facebook & Instagram, or share in the comments below. I'll feature my favorites with everyone here.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Daniel and I drove to my parents’ house over the weekend to see my mom for mother’s day. We had a great time, had a delicious dinner, played board games and enjoyed delicious wine. I always love spending time with my mom, but it’s especially great on a day created just to celebrate her.

Detective Pikachu

We got a chance to see the new Detective Pikachu movie over last weekend. I really loved the homage to my all time favorite video game series from childhood. It was a fun movie that I highly recommend to any fans of Pokemon. If you haven’t ever played the video games or watched the original show/movies, it might be hard for you to understand, but for a fanatic like me it was excellent.

Lucifer

I recently started watching this show on Netflix. While I don’t normally like procedural crime dramas, the paranormal element of this show adds an extra something. Plus, since the characters are based off Neil Gaiman’s Sandman, they feel more fleshed out and exciting than the average crime tv show.

Hidden Hotel

This has been my latest app distraction. The hidden item game combines my love of mysteries and interior design. I’m lucky that the time I’m able to play the game is also very limited, so it doesn’t distract me quite as much as some games may. If you play, let me know and I’ll add you!

Getting Back To The Gym

This week I’ve been working hard to get back to the gym after taking some time off due to my hectic schedule. I have a big trip coming up in June so I’m trying to get slim in time for it. Now, I’m trying to focus on classes, instead of working out on my own, so I’m hopefully able to form some sense of responsibility to keep going.
