Why I'm Not Writing This Week 9/13

Welcome to "Why I'm Not Writing." We all know that the only thing writers like doing more than writing is avoiding writing. So every Friday I list five things that have distracted me from my writing that week.

I also encourage you to share with me what made you procrastinate this week by posting with #whyimnotwriting on Twitter, Facebook & Instagram, or share in the comments below. I'll feature my favorites with everyone here.

Like Riding A Bike

I’ve recently thrown myself back into cycling classes. So far, it’s only been two weeks, but that’s four consecutive classes, which I haven’t taken in months. It’s a bit difficult climbing back on the bike, but I’m loving the class and hope I can keep up with the schedule.

2019 Bookmarks Festival

I was so fortunate to get to go to the 2019 Bookmarks Festival of Authors in Winston-Salem. I got to meet Dhonielle Clayton and Katherine Arden, PLUS get my books sign. To make it even better, I got to spend the day with my mom and aunts!

Four Weddings and a Funeral

My watch this week is the new Four Weddings and a Funeral show by Mindy Kaling on Hulu. I’m only one episode in so far, so I can’t make a big decision, but it is enjoyable. It’s, of course, no where near as good as the original movie, but it’s a funny and easy watch.

Audiobook Blitz

I recently joined a Facebook group for writers and reviewers specifically focused on audiobooks. I won’t be able to post my reviews for all of these books here, but I hope at least some of them can make it up onto my Tuesday posts. Either way, I’m so excited to have something fun to listen to on my drive to work.

Too Hot

It’s the middle of September, I shouldn’t have to blast the A/C to feel comfortable in my house. It should be a reasonable temperature, with little to no humidity. Instead, it’s still hitting the 90s and it feels like I’m swimming when I go outside. Please get cooler soon!
